WHAT WE’RE DOING:

1ST AND 2ND BLOCKS—Reading The Outsiders; students are learning the difference between passive and active voice;

students are learning word stems

 

GT ENGLISH:  Reading Edith Hamilton’s Mythology; reading Romeo and Juliet; learning the fundamentals of transcendentalism; vocabulary study (stems); completing essays in which they relate a well-known quote to themselves and to a character they have read about in class  

                               

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

HOMEWORK

         1st and 2nd Block, March 3-8:  students have a quiz on active and passive voice early next week, as well as a quiz on word stems they’ve learned in class

GT Classes, March 3-8:  students are to have completed three chapters of Mythology by Friday, March 7th; root quiz on Monday, March 19th; global conflict research projects due Wednesday, March 12th

Field Trip to Beaufort, SC

We’ve been meeting on Thursdays—students are currently reading chapter 8; the trip runs from April 25th to April 27th.
