Message from the Principal |

Dear Northside Knights, As you enter our school this year, you will find “A Whole New World,” a world of beauty and technology. When you enter the front of the school, you will see a color scheme of green, purple, gold, and maroon. Each color will lead you to a different wing. The purple hall is for sixth grade students, the green for seventh, and the gold for eighth. For all grades, the maroon leads to the related arts area. In the commons area, you will begin to notice the new technology with the monitors displaying messages. In each classroom, you will see a Promethean Board that will provide you and your teachers the ability to have interactive lessons. As you look around your classrooms, you will notice that there are no televisions. Information or videos that you last year would see by television, this year will be seen on the Promethean Boards. Some of your classmates will be bringing morning announcements to you from the Media Production Room through a computer to the Promethean Boards. The advances for us in technology are tremendous. I have mentioned only a few. Indeed, we are fortunate to be attending a “state-of-the-art” school. We have much to make us proud. Entering our gym is breathtaking. Our charging knight mural is magnificent. Having an air conditioned gym is tremendous. I can hardly wait for us to have a pep rally where the entire student body can gather to cheer for our athletic teams. Even though we are blessed to have all the benefits of a new school, our focus has not changed. We continue to have academic achievement for all students as our focus. Our theme for 2007-2008 is “Destination: Excellence.” The first priority for our new school is the same as it was for the old, providing the best possible academic opportunities for you. The Northside administration, faculty, and staff will do all they can to make sure you have those opportunities. Your responsibility is to take advantage of them. By being present and on time each day, you will begin to fulfill your responsibility. Then, by being actively engaged in the lessons the teachers design, you will learn information and skills that will help you prepare for your next level of education. Thank you for coming to Sincerely, Beth Pinson |
